Instructions

The conference is open to anyone interested in biomedical and health science and is free of charge for participants and other interested parties. The conference is a forum for active dialogue with the community outside the walls of the universities. The conference provides scholars, experts, and others with the opportunity to share knowledge, learn from each other, strengthen professional connections, and collaborate in the field of biomedical and health sciences.

Call for Special Sessions
This year, researchers are invited to organize whole sessions with a specific theme/subject.

Each session should consist of four 15 minutes presentations. A proposal for a special session should provide information on the session title, brief description (no more than 250 words). The name of the proposer, institution, and e-mail. If approved, the proposer is responsible for the session.

Deadline

The deadline for submitting abstracts is the May 15, 2024.

Call for Abstracts

Submitted abstracts can be in Icelandic or English. If abstracts are submitted in English they must be presented in English. It is important to stick to one language in the abstract text. If the title and body is in English the affiliations must be as well. The same applies to Icelandic. Abstracts must be well written and should undergo a thorough proof-reading before submitted.

Length

The abstract title can be maximum 15 word. The abstract itself can be maximum 250 words.

Format

The abstract should be submitted with the following four chapters:

  1. Introduction 
  2. Methods and data 
  3. Results 
  4. Conclusions 

The abstract should not contain any tables, graphs or pictures

Names and Affiliations:

Please state your research unit and/or faculty when applicable. For example: 

  1. Stem Cell Research Unit, Biomedical Center, Faculty of Medicine, University of Iceland. 
  2. Neurology department, Landspítali. 
  3. Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Iceland. 
06.

Keywords

When abstracts are submitted, authors must choose three key words from a list that best describe the abstract content. The keywords will be used to facilitate the reviewing and categorizing of abstracts.

Presentation of Abstracts

When abstracts are submitted authors can choose whether the want to have a oral presentaion or a poster presentation. However, the research committee reserves the right to have a final say whether the abstract is accepted as a poster or an oral presentation.

If authors send in more than one abstract they are encouraged to have PhD students or other co-authors doing presentations as well.

Publishing

Accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website.

09.

Evaluation

The evaluation of abstracts is in the hands of the School of Health Sciences conference committee. The committee reserves the right to to reject abstracts that do not cover a research result, are not of quality, and if the grammar is poor.

Authors will receive answers on participation on June 30, 2024.
